Event proceeds benefit Interfaith Hospitality Network, which provides emergency shelter to homeless families.

Since 2000, when the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) first proclaimed National Farmers Market Week, the number of farmer’s markets has grown 150%, from 2,863 in 2000 to 7,175 in 2011. As these numbers increase, farmers markets are bolstering local economies, improving community health, and bringing diverse groups of people together through a shared social space.

Goshen Farmer’s Market will be celebrating this accomplishment with door prizes & live music throughout the week.  Be sure to join us!

Performances are 7 p.m. on June 4 and 5 at the Goshen Theater, 216 S. Main St. This production is an effort of the whole congregation, with Phoebe Brubaker serving as director and Kent Dutchersmith as music director. During the performances, a freewill offering will be taken for the Goshen Farmer’s Market ‘Share the Bounty’ Program, which makes locally grown produce available to people with lower incomes. Tickets are $5/seat (general admission) and can be purchased in Goshen at Better World Books (118 E. Washington St.) and Graber Designs (208 S. Main St.) and in Elkhart at the Mennonite Cooperative Bookstore at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary (3003 Benham Ave.).
