Share the Bounty
Share the Bounty Program
The Goshen Farmers Market is committed to making healthy, local food accessible to the Goshen Community. Our 'Share the Bounty' program enables individuals and organizations to subsidize fresh, nutritious food for low-income families.
Over the 2019 season, Share the Bounty was able to provide free of local foods to low-income residents in Elkhart County. Our 2019 recipients included:
Vouchers for Vista Community Health Center and Maple City Healthcare patients. Dieticians from the clinic visit the market bi-weekly to help patients select produce.
Vouchers for Center for Healing and Hope patients in their diabetic program.
SNAP (food stamp) withdrawals at the farmers market are matched up to $20 per day to help residents expand their local food purchases.
Elkhart County Clubhouse received a CSA share to provide food for their daily meals and for clients.
The Window, Goshen's Food Bank, received a CSA share to aide in their weekly meal preparations.
Subsidies were provided to one area churches to distribute food baskets to community members as needed.
Our 2020 Share the Bounty Program will continue to provide matches up to $20 per day on withdrawals using SNAP benefits.
Support for Share the Bounty comes from individuals, churches, non-profits, and local businesses. We would love to have your help supporting this program. Donations can be made here:
