Farmers Market Update on COVID-19

COVID-19
We understand these are challenging times to navigate as we are faced with concerns about the spread of COVID-19.  We want our community to be able to access local food for their weekly grocery needs as purchasing food is a non-optional activity.  The distance our food travels is the shortest available in Goshen.  The farmers' market system is the most direct way to get food items onto your table after your own backyard garden.  Most of our items are harvest and packed by only a few people within 150 miles or less.  The Goshen Farmers Market is working diligently to maintain a safe space for vendors, customers, and staff.  We are continually monitoring the situation and making changes as needed.  Please note the following changes to our Farmers Market:
  • Temporarily no indoor seating.

  • Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask.

  • High-touch surfaces such as doorknobs and cooler handles are being frequently disinfected.

  • Disinfecting wipes are available at the front desk if you need them.

  • During the Stay at Home order, we only allowed essential vendors selling food and soap at the market.

New Farmers Market Hours

  • Our Tuesday Market is open May-October from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Our Tuesday Market tends to have less foot traffic than our Saturday market.

What we ask of our customers

  • Do not touch any item you do not intend to purchase.  If hand sanitizer is available at vendors' booths please use that before touching an item.

  • Maintain a social distance of 6ft from other shoppers.

  • During your visit get what you need and go- do no linger!

  • Wash your hands before and after your trip to the farmers market.  Restrooms are available at the back of the market.

  • If you are sick or high risk please stay home.

What we ask of our vendors

  • Vendors have been provided with hand sanitizer.

  • Vendors are strictly informed not to come to the market if they are sick.

  • Vendors will continue to adhere to high standards when handling and processing their products.

  • Vendors are asked to wear a mask unless they are medically unable to do so.

We will continue to monitor the ongoing situation and continue to make adjustments to our operations.  Thank you for your understanding and support of local foods.
